one thing that peeves me is junk - and by no means should that be translated to thrift finds, trash art, or unusable fixtures/collectibles - but just plain junk. and here is what we find..stuff from over 20 years ago laying around, occupying valuable space, and collecting mold. ugh.

mej and i went to the rebuilding exchange to pick up some oak for my wall. i also picked out my door (a french door, ya!). we lugged everything in and out of a cargo van and lets just say that the next day, my body was aching all over. nevertheless, i'm very very excited about my new room!

wow...finally the snow came! the media has been blowing it up since yesterday, i thought it was a big bluff. right now, its about 8 inches of snow. we have a ruler out the back porch at work to measure it. i decided to throw some color in to the whiteness. sometimes thats all we need.

its part of my daily routine to boil water in the mornings. when it whistles, i make it a point to get closer to being done with getting ready. if i dont boil water, i dont get to fill my french press, and i dont get coffee..therefore, my mornings won't be complete leading to me being very unsocial and awkward til lunchtime.

there was something about the light today. it fell gracefully on almost everything it hit...a nice subtle, hazed light. i tried going around the house, from top to bottom, and tried to capture it (mostly on film so they will be coming soon!)

the basement is in the process of renovation for
joe and my brother to live in. our house is so old
and it is very apparent in the basement. my dad
has been putting in over 12 hours a day in fixing it-
recementing the floors, painting, retiling, etc.

snow came back.. a nice morning wake up to whiteness. i didn't mind it this time. it felt like its been missing this winter. (i say this now but will complain later when i have to shovel my car out or when it affects traffic on my way home)

yes, this is where the fun usually begins. it started last summer with mojito mondays, to dinner challenges, cocktail experimentations, pre-games, and long sit-down conversations. if these walls could speak, we'd be in some big trouble!

on the other side of this view, is karina cooking dinner for us. lol..this is usually the case.
